According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s agricultural market Secretary of cotton weekly, December 5, 2008 -12 11 a week on average spot price of cotton fell 268 points last week. As of Thursday (December 11) the basic quality of cotton (41 color, 4 leaf cuttings, fiber 34, 35-36 and 43-49 micronaire value, 26.5-28.4 strong, neat 81 degrees) in the seven designated markets Week, the average price of 40.27 cents per pound. When the average price-week average price of 42.95 cents lower than last week, the same week last year and the average price of 58.68 cents. Japan this week, the lowest average price in the Friday (Dec. 5) of 38.23 cents, its highest point in Thursday (Dec. 11) of 41.44 cents.
As of Dec. 11 end of the week, the daily spot cotton prices in the spot report of the transaction total package 34,143, compared with 16,082 last week, closing package, with the last year traded ZHOU 52,616 packets. Spot turnover was a total of 381,364 packets, compared to the same period last year traded a total of 576,591 packets. ICE Thursday in New York in March cotton futures settlement price of 44.46 cents, compared to last Thursday settlement price of 43.60 cents.

In central and southern markets. Spot cotton trade is not active. Growers offer very little. The weak demand. Local cash prices. CCC-net-free loan transactions. Domestic and foreign textile agents rarely consulted. No sales report.
Southwest of the market. Texas, the east / Oklahoma slow to spot trading, the west Texas cotton spot trading slow as well. Texas, the east / Oklahoma CCC-net loan transaction moderate, western Texas, CCC-loan net active trading. A lot of sources. Little demand. Texas, the east / Oklahoma and western Texas, the average spot price weakness. Cotton producers to put CCC-loan scheme and co-marketing agencies.
Western markets. SJV Cotton Valley is not active spot trading. Cotton in 2008 for a huge amount of demand is still very small. Average local prices. No long-term contract or act of textile mills of the report.
ICE 3 month cotton market price fluctuations to continue. Attractive prices to stimulate some much-needed foreign textile mills production and procurement of raw cotton needs in the near future.
Southwest desert areas (DSW) upland cotton cash transaction is not active. In 2008 a huge amount for cotton. Demand continues to shrink. Average local prices. No long-term contract or report acts of domestic textile mills.
American Pima spot transaction is not active. In 2008 for the large volume of cotton. Little demand. Most of the foreign textile mill inquiry to probe the price for the purpose. No new sales report. The second round is coming to an end the work of picking cotton. Most of the cotton plant to remain in operation during the Christmas period.
Report of the textile mill. Domestic textile buyers rarely consulted. Most textile mills have been meeting in the near future and into the much-needed raw cotton production. No sales report. Cotton noted that some textile raw cotton to postpone delivery time, product sales as well. Many textile mill plans to leave at the dawn of a week down to two weeks.
